How ironic to be researching a book on kindness in America, only to be wounded in a random shooting.
Ray Dolin was hitching across the country collecting anecdotes on American kindness. Sitting quietly roadside while eating his lunch, a car pulled up. Thinking a lift was about to be offered, Ray approached the car. The driver pulled out a gun, shot and wounded Ray in the Arm.
The story made head lines across America and even became an item on New Zealand radio. Of course the Huffington Post covered the story and the Los Angeles Times made looked beyond the headlines. Check the links for details.
At least some kind person stopped and helped Ray get to hospital.
